COMMUNITY NEWS CHILDREN AND YOUTH LIFESTYLE

It’s often the smallest acts of kindness that spark the most powerful movements. For Theophilus and Terena Amoah, the founders of The Nehemiah House, this journey began about six and a half years ago. It wasn’t with a grand plan or a large budget, but with an abundance of extra food and supplies. Instead of letting these resources go to waste, they saw an opportunity to feed those in need, so they began serving the homeless population in Philadelphia.
For two years straight, they provided meals for up to 200 people at a time. But as they worked tirelessly to fill stomachs, they began to see another need—a need that tugged at their hearts differently. They realized the importance of pouring into the lives of Philadelphia’s children, who were in desperate need of guidance and support. They understood something profound: if you want to rebuild a community truly, you must invest in its future—and that future is in the children.
